U.S. Patent Office To Review Patent Held By AeroMechanical Services Ltd.

Calgary 1/24/2008 - AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (AMA) announced it has received notice that the U.S. Patent Office will reexamine one of its patents -- U.S. Patent No. 7,203,630.  AMA welcomes this review of the company’s ‘630 Patent, confident that the Patent Office will ultimately find its patent to be valid. That will serve to strengthen the validity of the ‘630 patent against future challenges.

The re-examination of AMA’s patent was requested by Star Navigation Systems Group, Ltd. (Star) in view of its U.S. Patent No. 7,113,852.  This is the same patent that Star accused AMA of infringing in a recently filed lawsuit in the Northern District of California.  AMA believes this lawsuit is without merit and has already formally requested dismissal of the action.
