Chinese Governments Endorse Asia Now’sExploration And Mining Program

Asia Now Resources Corp. (TSXV: NOW) is pleased to have received strong support from the Yunnan provincial government and local county governments for its Habo and Beiya exploration projects. Asia Now has been drilling on these properties since late 2006 and requested clarification of its exploration permits and plans to request mining licenses.

In November the Company organized a delegation to attend the China Mining Conference in Beijing, the Canada-Yunnan Mining Seminar in Kunming and to visit the Yunnan government to clarify the potential impact of recent government policy changes on foreign joint ventures in the mining industry of China. The delegation was well received by the Yunnan government and the Heqing County government, and was informed that a recent policy change would not affect the Company’s existing joint ventures for exploration and development of copper and gold deposits in Yunnan.

Officials from both levels of government said the Company is highly regarded for its exploration work and the contributions that the Company has made to local communities. This includes the assessment of local environmental issues, potential risks of geological disasters, consulting advice for the benefit of legally operating small mines, training for local geologists, and support for local students in graduate research programs.  Asia Now President Kaihui Yang and Noel White, a director of the Company, were interviewed by two major, central-government-run newspapers for exploration and mining in China during the China Mining Conference.

“We have been reassured that our properties in Yunnan have full legal protection and government support at both provincial and local levels,” said Asia Now Chairman Douglas Scharf.  “With the support from the local government, our exploration programs in Yunnan will progress in a very straightforward and unhindered manner.”

“We are strongly encouraged by the Yunnan provincial government and the Heqing County government,” said Dr. Yang. “We are committed to invest significant funds for an aggressive exploration program in 2008.  Currently we are accelerating and expanding the drilling program at Beiya North, where we have demonstrated significant potential for a large gold and base metal mineral deposit.”

Asia Now’s second project of note is its Habo Property. The Habo Project includes a large porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum mineralization system and involves a CJV formed with Yunnan Geology and Mineral Resources Company Limited (“YGMR”) in which Asia Now is earning a 70-88% interest.
